C.G. Jung
Artisan jewellery maker and designer, based in Bolzano.
In 1992 I earned the diploma of Goldsmith at the Institute for Art and Restoration “Palazzo Spinelli” in Florence.
From a necessary creative urge, and throug almost spontaneous gestures, I create unique jewels, similar to each other but all different, that do not bend to industrial and cheap practices. Each object is realised by hand in every step of production, from design to finishing touches. The whole process is aimed at creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces, original jewellery in search of that note of imperfection that makes each item an exclusive object.
My aim is to propose a personal conception of beauty – asymmetrical and imperfect. In so doing, I have found in the material and techniques that I use the right means, able to combine craftsmanship with the search for innovation. Traditional techniques are applied to explore and rediscover my vision of contemporary jewellery’ s shape and material.
My textile jewellery, made of thin copper wires adorned stones and other materials, attempts to bring back to a distant memory, to tell the lightness of metal, and at the same time give jewels a new life. I like to bring out a meaningful experience from wearing a contemporary piece of jewellery with a veiled antique flavor.
